Hi, I’m Dana
The artist behind My Weekend Inspiration.
I am a documentary and lifestyle photographer based in Wake Forest, North Carolina. Thank you for allowing me to tell you more about myself, my work, and my passion for capturing moments that make life special.
I am a wife; and a mother of two wonderful boys. My life revolves around the beautiful chaos of motherhood, like school runs, seasonal sports, and exploring our town.
After my sons were born, I fell in love with capturing as many moments as I could. Sunday breakfast, backyard play, neighborhood walks, even television time. I soon realized that what I was doing was “documentary photography,” capturing my sons as they discovered each of life’s wonders for the first time.
Motherhood was such a gift, but as a new mom with a full-time job, I was only able to do all that on the weekends. And that’s how My Weekend Inspiration was born.
I got my first DSRL camera around the time my sons were born and spent my weekends capturing those special moments, but also experimenting with still life photography and even self-portraits.
Today, I graduated from my DSRL camera and work with a mirrorless camera that’s allowed me to evolve and broaden my style. I apply my cinematic, documentary style that’s inspired by vintage film aesthetic, the simple moments of life, the changing seasons, and the Wabi-Sabi philosophy.
I believe that photography is like a song that brings us back to a special moment of happiness, stillness, or calm.
I’d be thrilled to capture those special moments for you as well.
This is us
A couple of my favorite photographs. Below, love taking photographs with that bokeh effect, makes them look artistic. That was one of our last family pictures in Boca Raton, Florida, before we moved to North Carolina. And on the right, last year in North Carolina. We were all over the place and couldn’t stop laughing, of course, we had to capture the famous 6 7.
